This past April, Jonathan and I headed down to South Carolina for the much anticipated wedding of Marissa and Steve. With the ceremony being held in the heart of Charleston and the reception at a private beach residence on Folly Beach, we knew it was going to be perfect. Marissa and Steve truly planned the most beautiful wedding day to share with close family and friends. It was vintage, southern, bright, happy, classic and glamorous all at the same time.
We started the day at The Mills House Hotel downtown where the beautiful Marissa and her girls prepared for the big day. The room created a serene ambiance for Marissa to piece together her vintage-glam look with a birdcage veil, her mermaid gown, and those rocking pink shoes! Just outside in the courtyard of the hotel, Steve waited to see her for the first time before they married. Once they came together, it was like peace swept over them. The outside of this hotel created the backdrop for some pretty, pretty portraits of the two of them and their attendants. The ceremony was then held in the Washington Square Park. The sunlight, the sounds- everything about their ceremony was perfect. After few more portraits in the park, we headed to Folly Beach where the reception was being held. With the custom lighting designed and organized by Steve's best man, eclectic mix of food (including shrimp and grits!), the stunning cake created by one of Marissa's bridesmaids, and the exciting mix of music- this party was the best way to truly celebrate the coming together of their lives. What a day! Seriously, what a day!
Attendants and many close friends and family helped piece together the vision for a vintage, southern and unique day alongside the incredibly talented Marissa and Steve.
Thank you, Steve and Marissa, for allowing Jonathan and I become a part of your lives and to document your most beautiful wedding!
