Janessa & Ian | COLUMBUS OHIO WEDDING
Janessa and Ian's wedding day began with a pretty steady rainfall over downtown but by keeping their spirits high (and my incessant praying) the day cleared just in time for their outdoor ceremony at the historic Taylor Mansion. The bride's dream for a vintage inspired peacock-themed wedding was carried out with details from handmade luminary table-number centerpieces, the wooden "wedding wishes" box with vintage peacock-designed postcards and DIY feather hairpieces to the antique decor of the mansion, antique Ball mason jars and her vintage-inspired attire.

You may remember this sweet, and talented, couple from their wedding last year. Chad and Keyona played the most beautiful music throughout the ceremony. If only images carried sound...
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed the clear sky and cocktails on the patio before entering the tented reception while Janessa and Ian joined me for their portraits just before sunset.
Stella, the bride and groom's baby girl may have been the cutest (and tiniest) flower girl I've ever seen. You remember their precious maternity shoot over a year ago.
Prior to the wedding, Janessa told me to watch out 'cause their families looove a celebration! She was right.. and there were a lot of them!

Kanika & Shaheen | INDIAN AMERICAN WEDDING
What an incredible Kanika and Shaheen's wedding day was! Beginning with traditional Indian events and continuing with a modern American ceremony and celebration- the day was an event not soon to be forgotten!
Kasey of Bliss Events designed an incredible setting for the morning of traditional Sikh ceremonies. From the fabrics imported from India, traditional cuisine and music, to a room enveloped in dramatic lighting, the setting for Kanika and Shaheen and their guests was perfection.
As always the Renaissance Columbus and surrounding downtown streets offered a modern setting that paired amazingly with the traditional Indian wardrobe for the mornings portraits.
After the beautiful ceremonies and portraits, it was onto part two of the day- the American ceremony and celebration!
The paper-made bouquet was custom created for Kanika by Christina Norris to pair with her sleek, modern styling that included gold Jimmy Choos and silk ivory gown.
After preparations, we headed over to Cosi Columbus. As always, the first look became one of my favorite moments of my day by the moving reaction Shaheen had as his bride approached.
I love these images my second photographer, Brittany Bird, captured of the moments just before the ceremony on the terrace.
Once again, Kasey of Bliss Events created this incredible space that the couple had been envisioning- a space full of light, white and pale blues with incredible box lanterns above the dance floor. Adorning the tables were sweet centerpieces by Flowers on Orchard Lane and paper flower table place cards by Christina Norris.
Kanika and Shaheen entered into their reception with a roaring dance party that had nearly everyone on the dance floor- now that's the way to begin a party!
Kanika & Shaheen Indian/American Wedding | COMING SOON!
Kanika and Shaheen's Indian/ American Wedding was that perfect blend of tradition and modernity that left those of us who experienced it with unforgettable memories. Here are a couple of my absolute favorites, with many, many more to come soon!
Karla & Mike | CINCINNATI OHIO WEDDING
With a peaceful setting, unique detail and a whole lot of loving, Karla and Mike's Cincinnati Nature Center wedding at the Krippendorf Lodge was simply magical. With a designer's sensibility, they created the day with the perfect marriage of natural and modern.
At Cincinnati's beautiful downtown hotel, The Cincinnati Netherland Plaza, Karla had an amazing team of stylists, including makeup artists Cass Brake, to prepare her for the big day. Throughout the day, I noticed what a talented and loving group of people Karla and Mike surround themselves with.
Her mother's heirloom bracelet, sparkling details and gold sequin Kate Spade shoes were the perfect pairing for her ivory chiffon gown from J Crew.
Their first look brought some of the best reactions I've ever documented. It's always such a sweet and meaningful moment...
I loved Mike's Ermenegildo Zegna suit in dark gray. Such a classic, tailored look.
Karla's vision for dusty pastel succulents paired light summer florals was realized by the fabulous Courtenay Lambert Florals of Cincinnati.
All of the details and handmade accents were designed by the talented bride. Karla's profession and talent as a graphic designer is something I've come to know very well in recent months (but more on that coming soon!). She designed all of the paper material for the wedding, bringing life to her love of combining nostalgia and modernity in typography.
Karla's aunt Harriet created the beautiful centerpieces and decor with various vintage-inspired vases and florals.
Loved this little guy.
As the sun set over the lodge, meaningful toasts and first dances set the tone for the rest of the evening of celebration.
Smiles Davis of The Flashdance came all the way from Los Angeles to spin Karla and Mike's favorites for a night guests (and myself) wouldn't forget.
Best. Party. Ever.
Congrats to my new friends, Karla and Mike!
Mike & Julie | COMING SOON!

Randi & Adam | Preview
In early June, I headed up to the northwest town of Archbold, Ohio to document Randi and Adam's hometown wedding! Many, many more to come soon!
All images documented for L Renee Studio, the brides sister Leah's photography studio. Leah of L Renee also happens to be the beautiful mama in this family portrait shoot!
Liz & Bill | GRANVILLE, OHIO WEDDING
I love the response Liz shared with me when I asked her prior to the wedding how they had came up with the beautiful color palette and English-Garden theme of their upcoming special day. She shared that the look was based around her favorite flowers, the things she enjoyed having around her at home and by relying on colors that just made her happy. I just couldn't wait to see how these details would come together!
I believe every wedding should be a reflection of ones personal style and as Liz so simply put it, with things that just make you happy! My absolute aim as a photographer is to approach documenting each wedding day with a fresh eye and a sense of what makes the couple happy. Liz and Bill's Granville Inn sweet garden wedding was bright, colorful, classic, and elegant!
The day was designed with a variety of details from Liz's lacy romantic Manuel Mota Gown, the groom's classic tuxedo from Romanoff's, stunning florals by Flowers on Orchard Lane, paper materials designed by Print Julep and expertly pressed by Igloo Letterpress, and the charming details of the historic inn. Makeup master Tim of Mukha Custom Cosmetics and Newkirk Salon completed the beautiful bride's classic styling.
After a sweet, sunlit 'first look', Liz and Bill spent some time together for casual portraits across the street at the Buxton Inn.
Throughout the garden ceremony, sounds of a classic guitar by Tim Cummiskey hummed and Jeff Linn's bag pipe led the happy couple as they were presented to their guests.
Cupcakes by Pattycake Vegan Bakery, placed on a pedestal created by the brides mother, were the centerpiece of a reception room that brought the outdoors in with bright green plants and radiant vases of flowers.
Beth & Joe | COLUMBUS OHIO RECEPTION
Beth and Joe celebrated their Mexico Wedding in their hometown of Columbus, Ohio at the beautiful North Bank Pavilion with a casual, colorful, evening reception with friends and family. The historic streets of German Village set the background for these sweet portraits of Beth and Joe before joining guests at the venue.
Flowers on Orchard Lane, Catering by Scott and Team DJ pulled together a beautiful event guests to enjoy in this modern, open-air space overlooking the downtown skyline.
