Moving out of our old place at 1600 Meridian Ave this past week brought along that mixed bag of emotions from excitement to nostalgia. That cozy little house full of quarks and character brought us through a pretty amazing first year and a half here on the beach. Once we emptied out our possessions and packaged up happy memories, I walked through photographing the same details I snapped the first day we went to visit it. Funny how time passes, right?

Here we are, a week later and very happily nestled into our new sanctuary. Once we've filled it in and made it all our own, I will be posting images to share!

Ramey Family | SOUTH BEACH

When Kelli, the fab makeup artist of BeautiMarked By Kelli, contacted me about a beach family shoot while she and her family were to be vacationing in south Florida, I was thrilled! I met Kelli a while back in Ohio, and was struck by her sweet, bubbly, contagiously happy personality... I could only imagine what her family would be like. On a breezy, warm evening I met the Ramey family at one of my favorite beach spots on South Beach for their relaxed session. Even after a short bit with this family, I already felt like I didn't want the session to end.

This week brought me to many places I had not yet visited here on Miami Beach. The week started at the stunning Viceroy Miami hotel for Michelle and Fern's downtown wedding and continued with visits all around Miami Beach for my week-long staycation with my sister, Jessica. This is Jessica's second visit here so we decided to soak up new experiences in the incredible warmth with visits to the beach and the amazing The Standard Hotel for a spa and pool day.

I spent a whole lot of time behind the computer this past week working on the nitty-gritty of running a business and happily gearing up the big push of my busiest year yet. That also means I didn't get to spend as much time as usual snaping polaroids out in the beautiful Miami air so I decided it would be the perfect week to document one of my other favorite places on earth- our home. It's been almost a year and a half creating la casa Julca here on Miami Beach. It is our little sanctuary of peace, light, earth and art and it also happens to be our place of work. I wake up thankful to spend my time in this space each day!
