McLaineO Custom Designs | MIAMI, FLORIDA

While living in Miami, Jonathan and I have had the chance to meet some pretty incredibly talented people. McLaine Oberhellmann is one such person. Last week, McLaine, along with a couple other south Florida designers, held a fashion show at the rockabilly hotspot, The Monterey Club in Fort Lauderdale. Before Jonathan and I attended the show, I was invited to document "behind the scenes" of preparation.

As a studio artist all throughout college, I loved experiencing other artists' creative spaces. I believe the light, patterns, colors and elements that one surrounds themselves with inspires the creative process- it's a powerful thing to experience. McLaine's live/work space represents who she is and what her work is all about. With a punk rock flair and a fierce feminine sensibility, her work is is crafted with perfection and heart. All of McLaine's designs, including the unique pillbox hats and intricate corsets, are handmade and are individually hand painted and silkscreened. 

These lovely ladies were lucky enough to model McLaine's designs for the evening.

In a packed venue, McLaine's designs attracted some serious attention at the show.
