Keyona & Chad Engagement | DOWNTOWN COLUMBUS

During my first meeting with Keyona and Chad, I could just imagine what I would capture from them in front of the camera. Over a cup of coffee, they shared with me the chronicle of their relationship and described their wedding day as they laughed, stared, grinned and even smirked at one another. Together they were just so real

Against the unique textures and colors of a downtown Columbus landscape, Keyona and Chad shared that same genuine love and respect I witnessed that first time I met them. In exactly three weeks from today, we'll be photographing Keyona and Chad as they experience their Wedding Day at The Taylor Mansion and I can't wait to capture more celebration of their love!

Sunlight reflected off an adjacent window, creating this incredible light show as a backdrop! That's what I call magic.

Often for days after, I am still buzzing off the excitement and energy from a session- and of course, always hope the people I have photographed experience the same. Just a day after their session, I received this in an email from Keyona and it made me smile:

"Amanda, I wanted to thank you for yesterday. Chad said to me on the way home, despite how awkward he felt having his picture taken, he enjoyed the opportunity to just celebrate our love for each other... thank you for making us feel special and important for a couple of hours."

Deviney Jane | 8 Months!

In honor my my baby niece's 8th Month Birthday today, I am happy to share my favorites from her Spring portrait session!

For this session, we decided to capture Deviney in a place that holds many memories for my sister, Jessica, and I. On the edge of the Scioto River, we explored and played in our wonderland of a backyard of our home on Riverside Drive. Growing up, Springtime was always a special time- the new season always offered a peace and serenity amidst the sparkling large green trees and manicured lawn. I feel blessed for those memories from the past and every chance I get to create them now. As we stood in the vast yard watching this precious child play in the grass, Jessica commented what it will be like when many little children will be exploring and running around with Deviney someday in Grandma and Grandpa's backyard. Amazing how time goes...

Happy 8th Month Birthday, baby Dev!

Lindsay & John Engagement | SHORT NORTH

While in Columbus this past month, the time seemed to quickly stream by while coordinating time for shooting, meetings and of course, sneaking in a little family and friends time. That was until we came together for Lindsay and John's session-  for some reason, time seemed to simply stand still. In the serenity of quiet alleyways within the Short North district and the warm Sunday sun, the peace and warmth that radiate between Lindsay and John was captivating and quieting.

I had been looking forward to getting the two of them in front of my camera for their Engagement Session for months and now I will wait in anticipation for their Wedding Day in late August.

These are some of my favorite shots from the session, shot while Lindsay and John sat together at the edge of the street, simply talking with each other.

A wall made of honeycomb tiles to make the couple make funny faces in front of... Perfect!

I spotted this storefront while driving through the Short North, I love the contrast of them against its quirky match-match of window coverings.

Along for the session, was the husband and wife team of Driftwood Visual who captured video during the session and interviews of engaged couple. I can't wait to share their vision when it becomes available!
