Melissa Roshan

First of all, let me just be frank and say Melissa Roshan ROCKS my world!  I have gotten to get to know Melissa through her stunning cosmetic mastery, as she created Shannon's classic beauty finish for her wedding and the vintage-mod look for Amy's session. I am ao grateful to have come to know her personally. She is a beautiful woman with a peaceful heart, believing in what she does and putting forth every part of herself into what she does. She is so very inspiring!

Not only is she is a killer makeup artist, Melissa is also a professional model.. and a darn good one at that! I was, without a doubt, stoked when she asked me to photograph her for her modeling portfolio! We spent an awesome evening in the Short North and Melissa did what she does best in front of the camera- and yes, she did her own brilliant makeup as well!

If you are a future bride, portrait client or just want to look and feel like a million bucks for a day, check out Melissa Roshan online! http://melissaroshan.com/

"Two plus one is three, three is family"

On a beautiful Sunday, Jonathan and I hit the road to Cincinnati for this awesome session.  We started on the neighborhood main street where we documented Kat and James strolling along using all the eclectic charm as our backdrop. Then we headed to a park where they had their first date- this was the perfect way to celebrate their Engagment in a session.  For the second part of the session, we went back to James and Kat's house for some precious family portraits with their 5-month old baby boy, Sully. This was our first time meeting this little guy and it was an instant heart-melt. I can't wait to see how he grows! We are TOTALLY excited for their Hilton Head beach wedding in September!

Thank you to our friends, James and Kat, for sharing your love and family with us!

Amy of C Studios

Amy, oh Amy! What an awesome portrait session! I have known Amy for close eight years as a great friend, constant inspiration and ally in the photo biz. She is the owner and much celebrated primary photographer of C Studios. I have been an associate photographer of hers for years, as well, and when she asked me to photograph her for the launch of her new branding and blog-site, I was stoked!  If you know Amy, you know that she is bright, happy, bubbly and ultra-personable! Despite claiming that she is shy, she totally rocked it out in front of the camera!

The ever-impressing Melissa Roshan completed Amy's vision for a vintage-mod look with her stunning makeup artistry!  We hoped around the Short North and found some killer locations to shoot against. Check out Amy's current blog here!

Engagement in the garden

When I met this amazing couple, I immediately knew I was going to love them! Together they are just so sweet, funny, and creative. As we began talking about their engagement session and the feel we wanted to convey through the images, Chris knew right away that his past home- the home where they began their relationship years back- would be the perfect location.

The owner of the property was so gracious to invite us into his garden and home for this session. I was in serious sensory overload when I walked onto this property. It was so beautifully and creatively decorated with such an overwhelming feeling of peace- I mean this is the kind of place that dreams are made of. I love how meaningful the environment was to Chris and Christine and I absolutely love the way they shared their relationship in front of the camera.

Thank you, Andy, for so happily opening your home and garden to us. And, THANK YOU Chris and Christine for allowing me to photograph you!

BAJOFONDO live!

Being invited to photograph the BAJOFONDO performance at the Wexner Center, in Columbus, Ohio for the upcoming issue of 1492 Magazine was a complete honor. Excitement doesn't come close to the feeling I felt just prior to meeting this incredible band. Gustavo Santaolalla is the leader, guitarist and vocalist of Bajofondo and also happens to be one of my personal favorite musicians. Needless to say, I was elated to meet them in person.

The evening began with an intimate interview with the band by Victor Zancudo of 1492 Magazine. After their inspiring words, we could only imagine what we were in store for with this incredible performance. We all have those moments in our lives when we feel our spirits lifted and we feel truly alive. The performance brought that and even more to me. There were moments when I simply had to put my camera down, put my task aside, and really absorb the music. It was a true honor to meet and photograph them-  a night I will never forget.
